In line with our objective of creating a museum, the Trust has acquired a shop unit at 6 Middle Entry. Tamworth Heritage Hub was born and having run for a few weeks has created a lot of interest. We had an official opening on the 27th April by the then Mayor of Tamworth Cllr Maureen Gant. To help with the running costs we invited The Friends of Tamworth Castle & Museum,The Peel Society, and Tame First Responders to share the space and advertise and promote their Societies.2016-04-04 13.18.002016-04-04 13.16.31

Artifacts have been donated or loaned for us to display and exhibitions of photographs by the Friends of the Castle & Museum and cartoons from the Peel Society have been set up in the upstairs room and these also boosted interest.

In the near future the First Responders will be giving first aid demonstrations including how to use the new ‘defibrillators’ that have recently been installed around the town.  Meanwhile the Trust will be hosting heritage talks within the ‘Hub’.

Watch the window or our facebook page for further information.

If you have a good knowledge of Tamworth’s History or wish to learn, why not become a volunteer to help man or advise on how to improve the shop ring Margaret on 01827 330669
